As Far As Goals Go
/Here we are again with another list for my blog challenge; this one dedicated to five current goals. The opponent in this challenge is consistency. It is a lack of consistency that hinders my ability to achieve goals. So, with you as my witness, I present the goals I aim to accomplish (hopefully) this year.
In middle school, I played around with the piano, violin, and alto saxophone. I enjoyed all three, but the sax was magical. Due to life's little pranks, I wasn't able to continue pursuing my interest in instruments. Now, however, I am my only enemy.
The concept of capturing things on camera is fascinating to me. I've always enjoyed pictures and video, whether it be making faces on mom's Polaroid or recording tv shows on old VHS tapes. In an age where cameras are attached to phones, and anyone can make a TikTok, showcasing creativity through media has never been easier. While my goal isn't to "blow up" off a TikTok video, I do hope to improve my photography and cinematography skillset this year and hopefully become an independent filmmaker one day.
Filmmaking is a big project, what with the production, lighting, editing, and audio, it's a lot to consider learning. However, I love it, and in my mind, a great way to practice those skills (on a smaller scale) is through streaming. Now, you don't need fancy equipment to stream, but if you enjoy filmmaking as I do, then why not have some fun with it by adding a bit of production value to it. I hope to produce quality content on the regular through streaming while improving my brand and self-confidence.
Whew, this is a big one for me. I like to think I am a creative individual who enjoys writing and exploring worlds. Being a critter (shoutout to the Critical Role fans reading this), I enjoy getting lost in places that people have taken from thoughts and placed on paper. I've always had an imagination as deep as the oceans I drift in, and to be able to express it to others would be a dream. So, I hope to write and potentially publish an immersive fantasy module. Honestly, getting anything published would be amazing low-key.
Lastly, but most importantly, I have a goal to improve my health in all aspects of my life. I want to eat a variety of foods involving less processing. I want to work out more often, including yoga and aerobics into a physically refreshing routine. I want to read and write more, complete more puzzles, and communicate with others in healthy discussions to build my mental. Although I perform meditation often, I want to improve the process; I want to work on breathing and controlling my energy and how it flows. I will achieve this goal. I will break free from the depths of depression, the shackles of trauma, and the overbearing weight of masculine armor, an inheritance forced upon me that I never knew I could deny.
